Kael Cley, a teenager once eager to take on the world, now crushed by its weight. His once tight knit family was fractured by tragedy. First the loss of his mother then the presumed grief-stricken sleep of his twin sister. Despite this, the love from his father pushed him to move on with his life, to pursue a dream he and his sister had had since they were children; to attend Asperia’s most prestigious training facility; the Iris Academy.
The Iris Academy, known across the land for its legendary warrior alumni, is also the only academy in the empire to consider Arcanists for acceptance, which made it the only school Kael could ever hope to enroll in. Upon arriving, much to Kael’s surprise, the Iris Academy has started a brand-new program this year, one, it appears, specially curated for him, a program for Specialists; Arcanists who can manipulate a singular element to a fantastic degree.
Throughout his year at the Iris Academy, Kael must navigate through daily lessons, relationships with his classmates, and missions that send he and his friends across the empire. He struggles with grasping his true arcane potential while deciphering what the people around him truly mean to him. All the while, Kael and his friends are swept up in a centuries old war between good and evil as a terrorist group known as the Arcana Conclave, bent on the abolishment of humanity in the name of Arcanist superiority puts the empire on the brink of civil war.
Kael must uncover the truth about his role to play in this conflict while deciphering his own feelings to unlock the potential that lies within him. Only then will he and his friends stand a chance at saving the world from an ancient evil bidding to rise again.
Welcome to
Asperia
The Empire of Asperia is a land divided in two. The simple man, a hard worker, a worthy warrior, a proud leader, defines the tenets and traditions of the empire. The Arcanist, few and far between, those with the ability to harness the elements that make up the earth around them, looked down upon by those not cursed to be different. Seeking to unite the two stands the Church of Radiance, desperate to bring peace as a sign to a Goddess who turned her back on the world eons ago.
